The IHSA is facing a lawsuit today saying that the Illinois High School Association “promulgated rules beyond their authority” and violated Illinois law. Thomas Devore, who has filed multiple lawsuits against the state including Governor JB Pritzker filed the lawsuit in Montgomery County. The lawsuit says that parents have to either agree with the IHSA on their rulings or be denied the opportunity to play sports.
The IHSA just recently filed guidance about playing sports with the virus, including wearing a facemask for all indoor activities, limiting the number of people in attendance, social distancing rules and more.
